District 1: New Show
Septemeber 15 is the date for the newest show for District 1. We are heading down to the beautiful Niagara Region to the Welland Fair. You can click Niagara Regional Exhibition for more information on the Exhibition and the grounds.
Open Clinic
Chris Blane and Denise Stoddard are putting on two open clinics, March 17 and April 14th at Ancaster Fairgrounds. Both days time is 9am to 5 pm. Cost is $125 and you can contact Chris Blane at cblane@hotmail.com to reserve your spot.
Novice Championships
AQHA announces classes to be held at the inaugural Novice championships and state qualifying methods
for the event.
AQHA recently announced the classes that will be offered at the inaugural AQHA national Novice championship shows, which will be held October 5-7 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Las Vegas. Also, state qualifying methods for the Novice championships have been determined.
Novice amateur and Novice youth competitors may qualify for the Novice championships in the following classes:
Barrel racing(see below for OQHA info on qualifying)
Pole bending
Stake race
Halter: yearling, 2-year-old, 3-year-old, aged and performance halter geldings and mares
Showmanship
Horsemanship
Hunt seat equitation
Western pleasure
Hunter under saddle
Trail
Western riding
Reining
Several opportunities exist for Novice competitors to qualify for the Novice Championship Show Weekend.OQHA clarified OQHA Provincial Qualifications for the AQHA Novice Youth and Amateur Championship Shows. The top 3 Ontario Quarter Horse members in the Point Standings up until June 30, 2012 will qualify for the 2012 AQHA Novice Championship Shows. Shows after June 30 will qualify for the 2013 Novice Championship Shows. At least some of the AQHA Shows in Ontario will offer Novice
Youth and Novice Amateur and Barrels and Pole Bending. This includes the Teen Ranch Quarter Horse Shows, June A complete list will be available shortly. The Ontario Rules will be posted on the AQHA website shortly.

NBHA NEWS UPDATE
2011 is quickly coming to an end, and NBHA Canada hopes everyone is having a wonderful Holiday season! NBHA has announced that they have removed the requirement that contestants must have been a member for a year in order to use a transferred wildcard. That is wonderful news. Please forward this info to anyone you know who might be interested in running NBHA this year and then able to go to the Worlds in Perry Georgia. Our new 2012 season is shaping up to be a wonderful year, with returning show hosts and new show hosts coming on board.
